Renewable Portfolio Analyst

Trailstone is currently experiencing a robust phase of growth, and we are pleased to announce an opening for a Renewable Portfolio Analyst in our brand-new Grenoble office at 30 boulevard Gambetta.

From weather model data covering the globe, power forecast data created by complex machine learning algorithms, to data measured on site, the success of Trailstone activities depends on a wide range of data. To achieve this objective, the Renewable Portfolio Analytics team applies its talents to maintaining the seamless operation of our renewables activities, analyzing data to translate high level signals to field related information, and enhancing our state-of-the-art power forecasting tool.

 

About the Role

The successful candidate will be joining our Renewable Portfolio Analytics team as a Renewable Data Analyst. To summarize the position, you will apply your quick analysis skills to identify and troubleshoot high PnL issues, and on the long run leverage your knowledge of renewable assets, as well as your understanding of the data outputed from wind turbines and solar assets to provide insightful analysis.

This is a full-time position with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring on-site presence in our Grenoble, France office for 3-4 days each week, offering flexibility. The role also entails regular visits to our main office in Berlin.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Taking ownership of operations within your designated countries.
  • Developing a suite of data visualization tools, enriching and bringing value to the data flowing in.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, business analysts, traders, and data scientists.
  • Being a pivotal contact and contributor to the development roadmap for tools and products within the Renewable Portfolio Analytics domain.

 

About You

We are seeking a proactive and pragmatic problem solver with a solid grasp of solar plant and wind asset operations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a Master's degree with a specialization in Data Analysis.
  • A background in the energy sector, preferable with at least 1-2 years of experience in renewable asset operations and/or management.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools, with a preference for experience with Grafana.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Proven ability to engage with multidisciplinary stakeholders in an international context.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English, both in oral and written forms.
  • The capacity to manage multiple priorities and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders.
